Blair and Ryan's Wedding

Blair and Ryan tied the knot on June 24th at Aurum in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It was a beautiful, hot summer day. With it's cozy arm chairs, modern simple style, outdoor fire pit and the sound of the river, Aurum provides a cool, chill backdrop for a wedding. It's one of my favorite venues in Steamboat - if I were to get married again, this would be my spot! Not to mention the food and service is top notch. Tom and his crew do an amazing job. Blair and Ryan wanted a fun, casual wedding with as much outside as possible. Thankfully the weather worked in our favor and we were outside for the entire night including an outside dance floor and live band.

In typical Steamboat style, the happy cries of paddleboarders and rafters enjoying the cool water as they floated by Aurum reverberated during the ceremony. Everyone laughed. It was so Steamboat! Cocktails, appetizers (compressed watermelon and feta was a favorite as was the Colorado smoked salmon on blinis!) and bubbles for the kids were flowing once the official part of the day was done and dusted. The fun, casual aspect of the afternoon was further enhanced by games of corn hole on the lawn. After the obligatory photos, the newlyweds were introduced and took to the outside dance floor followed by a lovely toast from the father of the bride.

Then it was time to eat! Guests enjoyed a delicious spread of sage chicken, grilled salmon, roasted asparagus and fingerling potatoes, buttered broccolini and apple, kale and farro salad (which was amazing!). This was followed by a fun variety of cupcakes including unique flavors such as s'mores and birthday cake. During dinner, Blair and Ryan managed to sneak away for some glorious sunset photos on nearby Emerald Mountain (it was so worth the 2 minute drive!). I love the photo of Blair throwing her bouquet in the air with just the wind to catch it.

And then it was time to dance. Well, to be honest, dancing actually started at 6:30pm! Blair and Ryan didn't want to wait until the evening for the fun to begin. So while some guests were enjoying dinner, others were on the dance floor. And guests danced the night away until dark.
